What time is check-in?
Check-in begins at 4:00 pm
What time is check-out?
Guests must check out by 11:00 am
Can I check-in earlier or check-out later?
While we try to accommodate these requests whenever possible, we cannot guarantee it. Of course, we are happy to store your luggage for you while you visit the area.
What is the age requirement in order to check-in?
The age requirement to check-in at Hotel Madison is 21.
Can I pay cash at check-in?
We must have a valid credit card at check-in, but you may opt to pay in cash at check-out.
Can someone else check in for me using my credit card?
No, the credit card must be in the name of the person checking in — or a credit card authorization form may be completed in advance.
Can I use a debit card instead of a credit card at check-in?
We discourage the use of debit cards because your bank will put a hold on cash in your bank account for our incidental hold amount per night at check-in. Hotel Madison will place an authorization on your debit or credit card for an amount equal to your guest room rate plus tax; additional authorizations may be needed in anticipation of incidental charges. It is recommended that credit cards are used at time of check-in rather than debit cards. Any unused authorizations are released at the time of check-out. Most debit cards will hold funds for up to 10 days after departure, depending on your financial institution's policy.

Does Hotel Madison have any on-site restaurants?
Yes, our Monty's restaurant provides comfort food with a modern twist in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The dinner menu is crafted by our Emmy award winning Chef-in-Residence! Hours and menus can be found at montysva.com or you may call the restaurant directly at 540-214-2280. Reservations are not required but can be helpful at particularly busy times. Quills is our lobby bar. We also have Grace+Main Cafe, which can be accessed through the restaurant or street-side at the corner of Grace and Main Streets. Please be sure to check our restaurant website for the most current hours and information.
Do you have a pool?
Yes, we have an indoor saltwater pool on the 2nd floor. Closed late night.
Do you have a gym?
Yes, we have a workout / exercise room on the 2nd floor. Access is 24/7 with room key.
Do you have a business center?
Yes, it is located on the first floor toward our conference center.
Do rooms have mini-refrigerators?
Yes, they are in all rooms. Our One-Bedroom and Studio Suites have full kitchens/refrigerators.
Do rooms have microwaves?
No, microwaves are not included in our standard guest rooms. However, they are included in these room types with kitchen facilities: Studio King and One Bedroom Suites. We also have a microwave available in our lobby market for guest use.
Do you have a guest laundry?
Yes, we have a self-service laundry facility for guests on the second floor with key access.
Do you have room service?
No, we do not offer room service, though guests may get take-out from our Monty's Restaurant. And there is no better pizza around than the Neapolitan pizza available from our Quills lobby bar and Grace+Main Cafe - just ask the locals!
Is breakfast included in my rate?
No, breakfast is not included in your room rate unless you have purchased a special package which specifically includes it.

Can I bring my dog?
For guests who book directly through Hotel Madison, we have a limited amount of dog-friendly rooms available. Please note that on certain dates, such as during busy events, no pets will be permitted at all. A pet policy applies which includes an associated fee along with certain restrictions. Please choose the pet add-on during your hotelmadison.com reservation process, or call us directly to make your reservation with pet arrangements. Are pets other than dogs allowed?
No other pets are permitted.
LOCATION & PARKING
How close are you to downtown Harrisonburg?
It’s walkable at about a half mile, or an easy drive just down the street.
How close are you to James Madison University?
We are the only hotel actually located on the campus, at the edge along Main Street. The Undergraduate Admissions building is just out our mezzanine level (garage) entrance.
What are driving directions to your hotel?
From I-81 Exit 245, turn right off the ramp (from southbound I-81) or left off the ramp (from northbound I-81) onto Port Republic Rd. After ½ mile, turn right onto S. Main St. While our main entrance is off S. Main St, our parking garage is accessed by turning right at the next intersection onto MLK Jr Way. Garage is on your right.
How does parking work?
Our garage parking is adjacent to the hotel and the entrance is located off MLK Jr Way. The hotel is accessed via a covered walkway from the garage. The rate is $5 per day per car with unlimited in/out access. We lease spaces in this garage, and we collect the fee from guests and track it separately due to these arrangements.
Do you have electric car charging stations?
Yes, we have two electric car charging stations for guests in our parking garage.
Do you offer Valet Services?
We do not offer valet services unless there are unique circumstances that would require it. A fee applies.

May I host a special event?
We would be delighted to work with you to plan your special event in our conference center, meeting and event rooms, or the Private Dining Room in our Monty's restaurant. CANCELLATION POLICY
What is the cancellation policy?
Typically, by 4:00 pm 48 hours prior to arrival. If your reservation is for a special event, it may carry more restrictive or no-cancellation policies (such as during graduation).

Is smoking allowed on property?
No, we are a non-smoking and non-vaping facility.
